This non-destructive testing method employs
high frequency sound to detect internal
discontinuities in the part under test. It is
generally used for the inspection of weld
discontinuities, plate laminations and shaft
inspections.

 

 
 

This type of ultrasonic examination is used to determine the thickness of a material to within
1/1000th of an inch. This method is employed to determine the thickness of such items such
as piping and storage vessels.
